Previous Session: [[Session 13 Summary (2024-06-23)]] ## In Person Session! ## Pulling Up to [[D&D/(C0) The Compendium/Places/Southeast/Ouachita Mountains/Hrakhamar Forge|Hrakhamar Forge]] - The party tries to sneak up on [[D&D/(C0) The Compendium/Places/Southeast/Ouachita Mountains/Hrakhamar Forge|Hrakhamar Forge]] but are quickly spotted by firenewt scouts riding on giant striders - The firenewts out scouting attack to defend themselves while the firenewts in the cave retreated to a defensive position - They decide they don't have a choice but to "go in hot" and start murdering ## Descending into the Mine - Party begins descending down a spiral railroad into a deep, vertical hole in the ground - Party fights a group of ghosts and earns some useful magic items - [[D&D/(C0) The Compendium/PCs/Ferrox Earthrender|Ferrox]] picks up a magical battleaxe that curses him to seek vengeance on enemies that hit him - As they descended further, they found evidence that the firenewts were worshipping some type of Lava Worm - Eventually they found Tzindelor - a very portly dragon - She had made a deal with the firenewts who keep her fed - She's grown fat and complacent, but still holds on to a sizeable horde ## What Did the Party Learn? - This was originally an old mine where precious resources were dug from the earth - Originally founded nearly a thousand years ago - The mine eventually uncovered a magical font of energy - a lava flow deep beneath the ground - This magic heats the nearby Hot Springs and is the reason for the high concentration of magic and monsters - The [[D&D/(C0) The Compendium/Factions/Governments/The Caddoan Nation|Caddoan]] government invested significantly in the Forge - It became a workshop where the finest spelltechnicians and runecarvers made weapons fit for gods - Caddoan government used the forge as nationalistic propaganda to project strength (hence the amusment park style tram tour) - Tzindelor took over the mine and forge not long after the Caddoans decreased their presence there (as the war started a few years ago)
